Surprise Weddings in West Auckland; Celebrant: Alexa Bartlett.

It was a delight to officiate at this happy event at the home of Juliette and Jacob. No doubt it was BIG SURPRISE for the guests of this happy couple as  they gathered here to celebrate a house warming and engagement party. Little did they know they were here to witness a wedding.  What a great afternoon.

With all the costs involved with formal weddings many couples are opting for a more casual setting. Without all the expense of paying for all the trimmings couples  are enjoying sharing their vows in a more relaxed and informal setting. CONGRATULATIONS  Juliette and Jacob,it was an honour to officiate,   may you have a wonderful life together, supported with a great family and friends.

It was a great day for this family and a reunion for all as family members and friends came from various parts of the country  to celebrate this special day. It was a birthday party for their son and also a surprise wedding.
After a wet week the afternoon was almost perfect for the surprise wedding of Jackie and Tavita.
The smiles on their faces said it all! It was certainly MY PLEASURE to share this wonderful occasion with this happy couple.

Tony and Kerry celebrated their wedding day in the garden with their friends and family.

It was an intimate gathering  and they were serenaded with music played on the guitar by Kerry's brother. It was a delight to officiate for this lovely couple.  The beautiful  home  and manicured surroundings complimented the occasion.

Colourful Cultural Wedding : Celebrant Alexa Bartlett

The sun shone on this lovely couple as they shared  their marriage  vows recently in West Auckland. Surrounded by their family members it was a happy occasion and a pleasure to officiate.
Bob and Anu and their family members looked fabulous in their traditional garments.
It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon as Bob, No 1 Chef delighted us all,  including the photographers and myself, with his culinary delights that were finger licking good!

Same Sex / Gay, Weddings Auckland, Celebrant Alexa Bartlett

This happy couple travelled from Australia to take their vows of marriage on September 5th 2013.   
In a relaxed setting with the beautiful Waitemata harbour at their doorstep Trish and Marline had a small intimate ceremony at the  Dawnhaven B&B Te Atatu  Auckland. dawnhaven.co.nz  Although it had been a week of unsettled weather it was the highlight of my week to officiate at this wedding for this lovely couple and enjoy the hospitality of the Helen  and Barbara who own this beautiful  cosy venue.
New Zealand is becoming a popular venue for same sex weddings since the Bill was accepted by the Government in August 2013.

Congratulations to you both it was an honour to officiate at your marriage and it was great to welcome you as overseas guests.  May your marriage be a happy one, full of wonderful adventures!!

I am sure every young girl dreams about one day becoming a bride, or even a fairy tale one and having a wedding in a castle, or living like a Princess in a Castle. Most of us can probably dream on, although there is certainly magic in both weddings and castles as I found out on my recent holiday.                      Wasn't Henry V111 lucky to have so many wives!

Weddings with an International Flavour, Celebrant Alexa Bartlett

There is a saying, " Love makes the world go round", and it sure does ! For love is all around the world! On a recent holiday I couldn't resist taking some snaps of weddings and wedding related articles. I never tire of the subject because every wedding is so special and when I see a bride and groom I am always tempted to take a "snap". I decided to post a few of these as they may be of interest to others!

 This couple I photographed on the banks of the Douro River In Porto, Portugal and later discovered they were movie stars. Judging by the paparazzi who were busy with their cameras they must have been very popular.
